2018 World Series odds are already out!

2017 is done, the Houston Astros fulfilled the 2014 prophecy of Sports Illustrated and Justin Upton has already re-signed with the Angels to kick off the hot stove season. You know what that means: It’s time to talk 2018 odds! Bovada sportsbook needed only days to start preparing for the upcoming season and the Red Sox are near the top of the pack - before adding that big bat we’re all hoping for!

According to Bovada, with chances of winning the 2018 World Series at 11/1 Boston trails only the reigning champion Astros, the National League champion Los Angeles Dodgers, Terry Francona’s juggernaut in Cleveland, and the Washington Nationals (in what could be their final season with Bryce Harper).

For some perspective, the Sox were at 9/1 odds in November 2016 trailing only the Chicago Cubs, coming off their World Series win, just ahead of LA, Washington, and Cleveland. All those teams made the postseason - although the 16/1 Astros did too - but the crowd seemed to have the landscape mapped out well pretty early.

According to ESPN’s Way-too-early 2018 Power Rankings the Red Sox rank sixth, behind the Astros, Dodgers, Indians, Nationals, and Yankees with a projected record of 93-69.
