Red Sox release 2018 spring training schedule

It’s time to start counting down

It’s still only November and we haven’t even had our first snowfall of the year yet — at least, not here in Maine — but it’s already time to start thinking about spring. On Monday, the league announced spring training schedules in both Florida and Arizona, and we now know the dates we can look forward to for the Red Sox.

The first day we need to know is Truck Day, which is the day we all get excited because a truck is leaving Boston and heading for Florida. Joy! Truck day 2018 will fall on February 5. Then, nine days later, pitchers and catchers will report on Valentines Day. After they spend a few days together, the full squad will report to camp on February 19. The team will have a few days of full-squad workouts before they start their playing schedule. Things will kick off with the annual doubleheader against Northeastern and BC, and this year that game falls on February 22. The Grapefruit League kicks off the next day. The schedule as a whole can be seen below.
