After completely wasting nine innings of one-(unearned-)run ball from Steven Wright last night, the Red Sox now have to take one of two extremely unfavorable matchups to escape with even so much as a series tie against a White Sox team that has done a whole lot of losing this past month.

The first of these features Clay Buchholz trying to show the Red Sox he's got anything to give them in the starting rotation, and unfortunately, the only reason to really believe anything has changed from a few weeks ago is a handful of good relief innings. Less than a full start's worth, really. Simply being so many days separated from all that awful at least provides some amount of hope in that he had time to reset, but man, the Sox really are kind of looking for a miracle right here.

That miracle will need to be extra-strength tonight, as the Red Sox are without David Ortiz, adding Deven Marrero to the bottom of the order against the tough lefty instead.

First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
