Game 45: Red Sox vs. Rockies

Games like this are the worst to look forward to. It's not a no-win situation for the Red Sox. We've seen them put up ridiculous blowout performances before this season that look good no matter what the matchup was on the mound. But aside from those ridiculous games, we've got the "yeah, they won like they were supposed to" win, the "that was way too close for comfort" win, and the "you've got to be kidding me" loss.

Two of those are...fine, I guess. One of those is awful. None of them are great. The risk - reward thing just isn't quite there. At the end of the year, a win is a win and a loss is a loss and they'll all run together for the most part, especially if the Sox make the postseason when games start getting really memorable. But here and now, as far as waking up in the morning and being happy about baseball is concerned, there's a lot more downside than up.

Oh well. Just go out there and win it and none of it'll matter.

Go Sox!
