David Price will try his best to make this a match-up of aces Thursday night as he and the Red Sox face off against Dallas Keuchel and the Astros.
Unfortunately for Price, he hasn't exactly pulled an easy opponent for the start where he's trying to show the change in his delivery was to blame for his early-season struggles. The Houston Astros are among the best in the game at hitting southpaws this season, ranking fourth, just behind, well, the Red Sox, and then by only a hair.
That means it might be a rough night for Dallas Keuchel too, of course. After all, he is coming up against a team with 40 runs in their last three games. But if Keuchel has also been struggling early in the season, he sacrifices some of Price's garish peripherals for more middle-of-the-road results. His bad outings are all clustered together, too, and come right before his last start, where he tossed seven innings of two-run ball against the Mariners. While the Red Sox certainly caught Sonny Gray at the exact right time, it's possible they've just missed on Keuchel.
First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN WEEI, and the MLB Network.
