Ryan Hanigan is set to start behind the plate Thursday night as the Red Sox try to take the rubber match from the Indians behind Joe Kelly.
I say that, but...are we actually going to get this one in? Probably not. The forecast seems to suggest we won't be seeing much more than a one-to-two-hour window without rain, if even that. Kind of the perfect finish to this ugly weather week in Cleveland. Good thing they didn't try to turn this into a double-header.
Honestly, though, that might be a good thing. The Red Sox just slogged through a pretty heavy bullpen game, and while neither Kimbrel nor Uehara were used, Uehara did warm up, and even when he's pitching well, Joe Kelly can sometimes struggle to escape the sixth inning thanks to efficiency issues.
So maybe we'll play baseball. Maybe Ryan Hanigan will end up making his 2016 debut. Or maybe we'll head to Toronto, where there's a roof to save us from more of this.
First pitch will (or will not) be at 6:10 p.m. ET because that's what they're doing these days I guess? WEEI and NESN will (or will not) have the broadcasts.
