The Red Sox and Indians will try again to get this Opening Day thing done come 1:00 after Monday's attempt was postponed due to cold weather. It's not going to be all that much warmer today--barely above freezing at game time--but with one Opening Day down already, one has to imagine these teams will be playing come hell or high water.
And they'll be doing so with the exact same lineups.
Boston Red Sox (0-0)
- Mookie Betts, RF
- Dustin Pedroia, 2B
- Xander Bogaerts, SS
- David Ortiz, DH
- Hanley Ramirez, 1B
- Travis Shaw, 3B
- Brock Holt, LF
- Blake Swihart, C
- Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
Starting Pitcher -- David Price
Cleveland Indians (0-0)
- Rajai Davis, CF
- Jason Kipnis, 2B
- Francisco Lindor, SS
- Mike Napoli, 1B
- Carlos Santana, DH
- Yan Gomes, C
- Marlon Byrd, LF
- Juan Uribe, 3B
- Collin Cowgill, RF
Starting Pitcher -- Corey Kluber
There is, of course, not much to say that wasn't said yesterday. About the only thing that's changed is that there's some element of the starting pitchers getting thrown off by the 21-hour delay, but that's a pretty big stretch. It's the same game we could've had yesterday, just a little bit less work for the grounds crews, and a very little bit less miserable weather-wise.
First pitch is at...well, some point decently after 1:00 given whatever show the Indians will be putting on for Opening Day, with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
