The Red Sox are in pretty good shape to start the year, no matter what happens today. But handing the ball to David Price with a 4-1 record would set them up for the sort of early-season success that few would've predicted.
To do that, though, they'll need Steven Wright's knuckleball to do more work against the Jays than R.A. Dickey's did against the Red Sox on Saturday. Or just to score a million runs again. Technically we've seen that the one can work without the other. And they've got David Ortiz back in the lineup, so their chances of pulling that off are better than they were yesterday.
Win or lose, it's been a nice opening road trip. But let's win all-the-same.
Go Sox!
