Red Sox vs. Twins lineups: Castillo, Holt, Shaw travel

New, 94 comments

It's your typical road lineup--or maybe even a bit better--as the Red Sox take on the Twins in their first televised Grapefruit League game of 2016.

Rusney Castillo is lagging a bit behind thanks to a case of the flu, but he's set to make up for lost time by making the trip to face the Twins in the Red Sox' first televised Grapefruit League game of the year.

Boston Red Sox (0-1)

  1. Brock Holt, 2B
  2. Rusney Castillo, LF
  3. Travis Shaw, 3B
  4. Bryce Brentz, RF
  5. Brennan Boesch, DH
  6. Ryan Hanigan, C
  7. Allen Craig, 1B
  8. Deven Marreo, SS
  9. Ryan LaMarre, CF
Starting Pitcher -- Rick Porcello

Well, this is about what you expect from a team on the road in spring training. Honestly, maybe even a bit better. Better than half of the players have a real shot (or are pretty much guaranteed) to be on the Opening Day roster, Porcello is certainly an important part of the rotation, and Castillo is a full-on starter.

Not bad for a road game, but not surprising given that the Twins are so close. We probably shouldn't expect more of the same down the line, which is unfortunate given how many of this spring's televised games will come on the road. What gives, NESN?

Speaking of NESN, that's where you can watch this one. Or at least on NESNplus, it seems. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
