The Red Sox and Indians will not play baseball today. Game 3 of the ALDS has been postponed due to rain, with the series set to resume Monday at 6:08 p.m. For those with tickets, they’ll be honored on Monday.
With the schedule now in some slight disarray, there’s no word on what the timing will be for Game 4, or if it will in any way affect Game 5. It’s pretty safe to say, though, that if the Sox manage to take a win tomorrow, they’ll be playing again on their scheduled Tuesday off-day.
Also unclear is how this will effect the rotation. John Farrell was set to go with Buchholz and Rodriguez 3-4 in Boston. Now, though, they could potentially turn to Rick Porcello for Game 4 and David Price for Game 5 on normal rest if they were so inclined. That would leave Farrell choosing between Buchholz and Rodriguez (with an option for both in a pinch) should he choose to go that route.
