It’s bad enough having to take a travel day off when down 0-2 in a best-of-five series. It’s a pretty torturous position to be in, and at least for my money, I’d want to get things over with. Either get swept, or get back in the series. Anything but spending another day with the axe ready to fall.
But that’s what we got. Another day spent in limbo thanks to the rain. And...well, it does actually help the Red Sox. Having Eduardo Rodriguez available if Buchholz ends up in trouble early is no small thing, and a boost that the Indians don’t really get out of this turn of events.
Well, with the weather clear, the Red Sox will play their game today, whether it be their last breath in 2016, the start of a comeback, or something in-between.
First pitch is at 6:08 p.m. ET with broadcasts on TBS and WEEI.
