Red Sox vs. Orioles lineups: Bradley starts in center field

Jackie Bradley is the one who seems in need of a day off, but Mookie Betts is the one on the bench Wednesday night.

The Red Sox will finally get around to mixing up their outfield arrangement, giving Jackie Bradley Jr. a start in center field as Mookie Betts takes the day off.

BOSTON RED SOX BALTIMORE ORIOLES
Brock Holt - RF Nolan Reimold - DH
Pablo Sandoval - 3B Manny Machado - 3B
Dustin Pedroia - 2B Chris Davis - 1B
David Ortiz - DH Adam Jones - CF
Travis Shaw - 1B Jonathan Schoop - 2B
Rusney Castillo - LF Steve Pearce - LF
Blake Swihart - C Gerardo Parra - RF
Jackie Bradley - CF J.J. Hardy - SS
Deven Marrero - SS Caleb Joseph - C
Henry Owens - LHP Mike Wright - RHP

It's actually odd that this is the first shift we see in the outfield. Not because Bradley in center is odd--it is anything but--but because Bradley has been struggling so badly lately that if anyone was going to get a day off, you'd expect it to be him. After all, while his OPS is still up over .900, he's managed one hit in his last seven games (a span of 24 at bats) with an ugly 13 strikeouts.

But for now, Bradley will apparently just have to work through the slump on the field. Hopefully he gets it over with before it's done too much damage.

First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
