Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez are both out as the Red Sox try to take a series win from the Tigers in Detroit.
Looking at the team today, only David Ortiz and Xander Bogaerts remain from the Opening Day starting nine. It's hardly recognizable, which is either a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. Good because, God, who really wants more of what we got in the first few months. Bad because the change is largely just the result of guys like Mookie Betts and Dustin Pedroia being injured.
Hopefully even with the unusual, unfamiliar defense behind him, Henry Owens can turn in a good second start. He was clearly amped up for his first outing, which resulted in some wildness, but at least his stuff wasn't particularly in question, and his day only got particularly rough in attempting to handle the sixth inning after five innings of one-run ball.
First pitch is at 1:08 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
