Hanley Ramirez is still out with shoulder fatigue, but for some reason that's not going to give us another day of Betts, Bradley, and Castillo in the outfield. Instead, we get Alejandro De Aza.

Honsetly, I don't even know why De Aza is on this team at this point. It's not particularly fair to him, as he was performing quite well but is largely useless to the Red Sox in the greater scheme of things, leaving him effectively relegated to the bench. In a way, this start is likely little more than throwing the guy a bone. No late-August start is going to convince anyone to pay more for De Aza than they would have without it, much less more than they would have paid in late July before he was basically told to take the month off. It's like everyone forgot about him starting on July 31st and have just been hoping the issue would work itself out.
Oh well, not like this team has been optimizing its usage of playing time since the season began. Why start now?
First pitch is at 4:05 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN, WEEI, and FS1
