Rusney Castillo is out of the lineup Saturday against Felix Hernandez and the Mariners after fouling a ball off his foot and leaving Friday night's game.
With Castillo out, Alejandro De Aza will get the start in left. Nice to have that be the exception to the rule, spurred by injury (well, not 'nice" to be spurred by injury, but you know what I mean) rather than the rule, with Castillo languishing on the bench.
Friday night's game was a nice change of pace, to be sure. But along comes Felix Hernandez to shut things down. It's hard to imagine the Red Sox doing to King Felix what they did to Mike Montgomery Friday night. And even if Wade Miley can do to the lineup what Joe Kelly did, you'd need the bullpen to keep Seattle quiet again as well. I'd appeal to small miracles, but I'm not sure how small they are.
First pitch is at 1:35 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN, WEEI, and the MLB Network.
