Has Yoan Moncada shaken gotten up to speed? I hesitate to jump to any conclusions since Greenville's prospects seem to have switched back and forth between hot and cold in the blink of an eye, but he does have a .324/.410/.441 batting line so far in the second half (nine games).

Necessary buzzkill time: that the guy who won just about every conceivable player of the year award this season in college ball is off too a good start in Lowell is not exactly a surprise.

Now that that's out of the way...Benintendi gets his first homer in a Red Sox uniform in just his second game. The biggest question mark for the former Razorback was likely whether or not his 2015 surge and the power that came with it was for real. There's a lot of reason to think so--mainly that it's not all that surprising given how he was playing before his freshman year of college brought injury with it--but seeing Benintendi pick up a wood bat and immediately start producing is at the very least reassuring.
