Red Sox vs. White Sox lineups: The end of a terrible series

Remember when the Angels series was the worst it could be? With a bad loss tonight, this White Sox one can easily top it.

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Good news, everyone: no matter what happens tonight, this stupid series where the Red Sox have apparently decided to set the all-time record for first inning runs allowed will be over before the morning.

CHICAGO WHITE SOX BOSTON RED SOX
Adam Eaton - CF Brock Holt - 2B
Tyler Saladino - 3B Xander Bogaerts - SS
Melky Cabrera - LF Hanley Ramirez - LF
Jose Abreu - 1B David Ortiz - DH
Adam LaRoche - DH Mike Napoli - 1B
Alexei Ramirez - SS Rusney Castillo - RF
J.B. Shuck - RF Pablo Sandoval - 3B
Tyler Flowers - C Blake Swihart - C
Carlos Sanchez - 2B Jackie Bradley - CF
Chris Sale - LHP Steven Wright - RHP

Bad news everyone: we still have another game to get through, and if anyone can keep the streak alive on any given night, it's a knuckleballer like Steven Wright. Especially one who apparently hasn't really been feeling it lately. Three home runs in his last two games? The White Sox apparently doing their best impression of the Cardinals to the point where we've apparently actually convinced them to consider buying? Oh, but it's not looking good at all.

Not that it's looked good at any point since that New York series. Yeah, you can say it was the Angels who finished the job once and for all, but let's be honest, this team threw everything it had into the push that actually got them back into a seemingly important series against New York, and when they couldn't pull that one out, all the fight was out of them.

All we're doing is watching autopilot.
