Red Sox vs. Tigers lineups: The two-straight dream

The losing streak is over. Long live...well, not another losing streak hopefully.

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

The Red Sox finally won a game again! Now they'll try to make it two straight Saturday afternoon as they send Steven Wright to the mound against the Tigers.

DETROIT TIGERS BOSTON RED SOX
Rajai Davis - CF Mookie Betts - CF
Ian Kinsler - 2B Brock Holt - 2B
Yoenis Cespedes - LF Xander Bogaerts - SS
Victor Martinez - DH David Ortiz - DH
J.D. Martinez - RF Hanley Ramirez - LF
Nick Castellanos - 3B Pablo Sandoval - 3B
Alex Avila - 1B Mike Napoli - 1B
James McCann - C Alejandro De Aza - RF
Jose Iglesias - SS Blake Swihart - C
Alfredo Simon - RHP Steven Wright - RHP

Wright gets the start tonight despite recently being optioned back to Pawtucket thanks to the quirks of the 26th man allowed to teams for double headers. His last start didn't go all that well, but such is the bargain you make when you put a knuckleballer on the mound. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. If they don't bring anything special to the table otherwise, as with Wright, it's more or less a coin flip.

Of course, that's not a complaint right now given where the Red Sox often stand with their rotation otherwise. I'll take a coin flip over Kelly any day.

First pitch is at 4:05 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
