Brock Holt will start at third base for the first game of Boston's day - night doubleheader against the Twins.
Brock Holt is the oddity in the lineup--that and the fact that Leon is catching the day half after playing last night--but there's no denying that Eduardo Rodriguez is the focus of this game. Rodriguez drew all sorts of attention in his major league debut last week, holding Texas scoreless for 7.2 dominant innings. It was the only game the Red Sox won on their road trip, and they're hoping his Fenway debut goes just as well.
You would think that, with the Twins at 30-20 and the Rangers at 27-25, Minnesota would offer the greater challenge for Rodriguez, but actually the Rangers have both been better at the plate in general this year, and better against lefties in particular. Still, the Twins have managed to stack their lineup with a full nine batters who hit either right-handed or switch, so it's going to be no easy feat replicating his earlier success.
First pitch is at 1:35 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
