Red Sox minor lines: Tough luck for Steven Wright

Nine innings and one run is usually enough for a pitcher to get the win. But Steven Wright's return to a starting role was not kind.

Pawtucket L 0-1

Rusney Castillo: 0-3, BB
Allen Craig: 0-2, BB, K
Garin Cecchini: 0-2, BB
Sean Coyle: 0-3, 2 K

Steven Wright: 9 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K

Yikes, the Red Sox really didn't waste any time getting Steven Wright back to starting, and they sure didn't start slow, either. From one-inning outings to a complete game, and one that only got away from him when a seeing eye single in the ninth was scored by a two-out double.

Portland L 0-9

Sam Travis: 0-3, BB
Manuel Margot: 1-4

Salem W 11-1

Wendell Rijo: 2-5, 2B

Ty Buttrey: 6 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

Buttrey is currently enjoying both one of the best and one of the quietest seasons in the system this year. The Sox have already taken quite a bit of talent out of Salem this past week, and Buttrey is probably past due to follow his promoted teammates to Portland.

Lowell W 7-2

Luis Alexander Basabe: 1-4, 3B
Tucker Tubbs: 2-4, 2B, 2 K
Victor Acosta: 2-3, BB

Jake Cosart: 3 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 3 K

Lot of active hit streaks in Lowell. Luis Alexander Basabe and Victor Acosta have each hit safely in their last five, while Tucker Tubbs has gone six straight. That accounts for every game played by the latter two, no less.

GCL Red Sox W 6-1

Yoan Aybar: 2-4, 2B, K
