Red Sox minor lines: Remember Justin Masterson? (Please don't)

At this point I think the Red Sox would rather you forget Justin Masterson exists so they don't have to deal with that situation at all.

Pawtucket L 0-2

Jackie Bradley Jr.: 1-4, 2B, BB, 3 K
Travis Shaw: 1-4, 2 K
Allen Craig: 1-2, 2 BB, K
Garin Cecchini: 0-4, 3 K
Deven Marrero: 0-4, 3 K
Sean Coyle: 0-4, 3 K

Justin Masterson: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
Matt Barnes: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
Pat Light: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

Erik Johnson and Onelki Garcia managed 16 strikeouts in eight innings of work against Pawtucket. So let's maybe sweep this game under the rug and pretend it's not a thing.

After all, that's kind of what the Red Sox have one with  Justin Masterson. Remember how two weeks ago they weren't sure he was going to need another rehab start and etc. etc. etc.? It seems like they've basically just decided to ignore the situation as long as they can. Given that this would suggest they aren't particularly eager to bring him back to the majors...I'll take it.

Portland L 1-6

Carlos Asauje: 0-4, E

What's happened to you, Carlos? A .518 OPS in June has his whole season looking awfully mediocre at this point.

Salem L 1-4

Sam Travis: 0-4, 2 K, E
Wendell Rijo: 0-2

Teddy Stankiewicz: 6 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

Salem W 4-3

Manuel Margot: 2-2, HR, BB
Sam Travis: 1-4, K
Wendell Rijo: 0-4, 3 K

Kevin McAvoy: 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB

Man, but Manuel Margot's season is going to take a while to recover from when he was very likely playing through injury in May. Before going on the DL, he hit .135/.175/.135 in 37 at bats. Compare that to .324/.377/.515 in April and .315/.339/.444 since coming back in June.

Greenville W 9-3

Rafael Devers: 0-5
Yoan Moncaa: 1-2, 2B, BB
Michael Chavis: 1-3, 2 K

Greenville L 4-12

Rafael Devers: 0-5, K
Nick Longhi: 2-4, K
Yoan Moncada: 1-4, 2 K, E
Javier Guerra: 0-4, K
Michael Chavis: 1-3, HR, BB

Devers hits another slide. He'll be back tomorrow with four hits, probably.
