Sox vs. Jays lineups: Ortiz starts, Kelly on the Mound

New, comments

The Red Sox turn to Joe Kelly to fix the franchise's flagging fortunes.

After last night's debacle of a performance, the weekend has already gotten off to a miserable start. The Red Sox will seek to avoid dropping a third consecutive series against an AL East opponent, this time with Joe Kelly on the mound:

Today's Lineups

BOSTON RED SOX TORONTO BLUE JAYS
Mookie Betts - CF Devon Travis - 2B
Dustin Pedroia - 2B Josh Donaldson - 3B
David Ortiz - DH Jose Bautista - DH
Hanley Ramirez - LF Edwin Encarnacion - 1B
Pablo Sandoval - 3B Russell Martin - C
Mike Napoli - 1B Kevin Pillar - CF
Allen Craig - RF Michael Saunders - LF
Xander Bogaerts - SS Chris Colabello - RF
Blake Swihart - C Ryan Goins - SS
Joe Kelly - RHP Drew Hutchison - RHP

I'm not sure what to say about this lineup. It's good to see David Ortiz back, but you've also got no Brock Holt, and a bonus of Allen Craig to go along with it. So I guess you should just keep any good luck charms you have handy, and hope that we get to feast on some fowl balls. The game starts at 1:07 PM Eastern.

GO SOX.
