Oh, Red Sox, we're standing on the edge here. One loss shy of 12-13. You don't want to cross that .500 line. Nobody wants to cross it. Nothing good lies down that path. Especially not when it's the result of a Yankees sweep.
This team is not in a good place. Nobody's really going to pretend otherwise at this point. But they're not quite in a bad one just yet either. They're treading water, trying to figure some things out, and once they figure those things out it will largely come down to whether anyone steps in to fill the spaces left in the aftermath. But treading water is not a given, and 12-13 isn't treading. It's sinking. Slowly, but surely, sinking.
