Red Sox vs. Twins lineups: Brock Holt starts in right as Sox try to dodge sweep

It's Holt in right, Rusney on the bench as the Sox look to salvage a win in Minnesota.

Gregory Fisher-USA TODAY Sports

The Red Sox will have Brock Holt in right field Wednesday afternoon as they send Rick Porcello to the mound and try to avoid being swept by the Minnesota Twins.

BOSTON RED SOX MINNESOTA TWINS
Dustin Pedroia - 2B Brian Dozier - 2B
Mookie Betts - CF Torii Hunter - RF
Pablo Sandoval - 3B Joe Mauer - 1B
Hanley Ramirez - LF Trevor Plouffe - 3B
David Ortiz - DH Eduardo Escobar - DH
Mike Napoli - 1B Eddie Rosario - LF
Xander Bogaerts - SS Chris Herrmann - C
Brock Holt - RF Aaron Hicks - CF
Blake Swihart - C Danny Santana - SS
Rick Porcello - RHP Phil Hughes - RHP

The absence of Rusney Castillo is a surprise, with the outfielder having now missed two of the Red Sox' last three games. He's not exactly tearing the cover off the ball, no, but the four games he's played are certainly not going to worry anyone in the dugout enough to have him anywhere but alone atop the depth chart in right.

Whatever is keeping Rusney out, any hit to the lineup seems like one the Red Sox can't really withstand these days. They've looked like their old May selves in this series against the Twins, with their one last chance to do some damage coming against Phil Hughes. At the very least, Hughes has proven vulnerable to the home run ball this season, and that is how the Red Sox have produced runs of late with Mike Napoli swatting them left and right.

First pitch is at 1:10 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
