Pawtucket L 1-4
Rusney Castillo: 1-4, 2 K, 2 SB
Bryce Brentz: 0-3, BB, K
Deven Marrero: 1-4, 2 K, E
Garin Cecchini: 0-3, K
Keith Couch: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 3 K
We haven't seen anything special from Deven Marrero of late, but after a really awful slump saw his OBP drop from well over .400 all the way down to .280, a good week-plus from the shortstop has that figure back up to a respectable .333. He's not on fire, but at least he's not ice cold.
Portland W 4-2
Carlos Asuaje: 1-4, POCS
Keury De La Cruz: 2-4, 2B, SB
Justin Haley: 6 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 8 K
Well that's out of nowhere from Haley. He'd struck out six batters once early in the year, and then no more than three in any other game. This is also the first time he's gone as deep into the game as this. Hopefully he's shaking off whatever early season rust was causing him so many troubles.
Salem L 1-12
Sam Travis: 0-4, K
Greenville W 4-1
Rafael Devers: 0-3, 2 K
Michael Chavis: 0-3, 3 K
Javier Guerra: 0-2, 2 BB
Michael Kopech: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 7 K
The lower levels are getting a bit dire these days, so Yoan Moncada's arrival to Greenville tonight might be coming just in time. At least there's Michael Kopech putting up a strong start for the Sox' Single-A team. What's more, he's been getting some pretty positive reviews from scouts even beyond the actual results he's putting up.
