Red Sox minor lines: Brian Johnson keeps on rolling

Brian Johnson has had one bad outing. The rest have been almost too easy.

Pawtucket W 4-1

Rusney Castillo: 0-3
Allen Craig: 1-3, BB
Bryce Brentz: 2-4, HR, K
Travis Shaw: 1-3, BB
Garin Cecchini: 1-4, 3 K
Deven Marrero: 0-2, BB

Brian Johnson: 6.2 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 8 K, 1 HR
Heath Hembree: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

A couple starts back, Brian Johnson allowed seven runs in a 2.2-inning disaster. Aside from that one strange anomaly, however, he's allowed zero or one run in every one of his outings. The peripherals haven't always been quite as good as they were here, but even if his walk rate has proven a little high thus far, he's striking out more than a batter an inning. It's been quite the start.

Portland L 2-4

Carlos Asuaje: 1-4, BB, K
Keury De La Cruz: 0-4

Streaky Keury is streaking in the wrong direction now. Since his 3-for-3 outing boosted him to a .300 average on the 6th, he's 5-for-32 with a walk and a couple doubles. It was always likely to happen, but it's still a bit of a letdown to see it happen every time.

Salem W 1-0

Sam Travis: 0-3, BB, K

Greenville W 4-2

Nick Longhi: 1-4
Michael Chavis: 3-4, 2B

Doesn't take many players sitting out or getting hurt to make the lower levels look awfully thin. Where you at, Yoan Moncada?
