Monday's game was tons of fun, Wednesday's rather less so. Baseball is back, bringing with it all the harsh realities of sport where even the best teams can't win two thirds of their games. This is a strange thing we've chosen for our hobby/obsession, but now we're in, and there's certainly no getting out, so let's hope this is one of those better nights.
Clay Buchholz' start on Monday was a nervous moment for Red Sox fans. Would they get the good Clay Buchholz of 2010-2011 and 2013? Or the Clay Buchholz of 2012 and 2014 who at times couldn't have gotten high school players out. Tonight feels pretty much the same. When Justin Masterson is healthy and "right," he's a guy who can lead a rotation. When he's not, he's just as bad as Buchholz. Masterson says he's feeling good, but seeing is believing.
Go Masterson! Go Sox!
