Through 5.5, everything is beautiful. Clay Buchholz has earned his Opening Day start with some fantastic pitches, striking out six Phillies and barely facing any trouble in the process, while home runs from Dustin Pedroia (2!), Mookie Betts, and Hanley Ramirez have the Red Sox ahead 4-0.
Given the lack of runners on base around those long balls, this is still a baseball game. But the Red Sox have started Opening Day about as well as could be hoped.
Go Sox!
