Red Sox minor lines: Manuel Margot triples his walks (and still doesn't strike out)

Someday Manuel Margot will strike out. But that day? That day was not yesterday.

Pawtucket L 3-8

Jackie Bradley Jr.: 2-4, 2B, K
Blake Swihart: 0-4, K
Travis Shaw: 1-4
Bryce Brentz: 2-4, 2 2B, K
Deven Marrero: 0-2, BB, 2 K

Steven Wright: 6 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 10 K

Thus always to knuckleballers in the minor leagues? The last time a pitcher was this dominant and this badly beaten was...oh, right, Joe Kelly. Last night.

Dammit.

Meanwhile, Jackie Bradley Jr. does continue to plug away. If the Red Sox chose to pull the trigger on the Victorino Situation before Rusney Castillo was healthy, Bradley would be the obvious candidate for a call-up. But it could make for an awkward situation when Castillo is ready if he doesn't get much of a chance between his call-up and that point.

Portland L 8-10

Carlos Asuaje: 1-5, K

Salem W 4-1

Manuel Margot: 0-2, 2 BB, 2 SB
Sam Travis: 1-3, BB, SB

Margot hadn't been striking out at all, but he'd also not been walking until yesterday. That's three on the season now.

Greenville W 7-3

Rafael Devers: 1-4, BB, K
Michael Chavis: 2-4, 2B, E

Michael Chavis' OPS is up 213 points over the last four games. It's still not where he'd want it to be, I'm sure, but it's a start after going 4-for-27 to start the year.
