Pawtucket W 8-7
Travis Shaw: 1-5, K
Bryce Brentz: 3-4, 2B, HR, BB, K, E, A
Garin Cecchini: 0-4, 3 K
Blake Swihart: 3-4, 2B
Deven Marrero: 1-3, HR, BB, 2 K
Sean Coyle: 1-2, HR, 2 BB, POCS
Steven Wright: 5 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 2 K
An obvious boom, except for Steven Wright, who had to suffer the other team's. It was never particularly in doubt, but it's good to see Blake Swihart put together a big multi-hit game. Much more in doubt: Deven Marrero hitting for power. Not that one homer says much of anything, but it's something.
Portland L 2-3 (In 10)
Carlos Asuaje: 1-4, K
Keury De La Cruz: 2-4, HR, SB
Keury De La Cruz is off to an awfully hot start, but...well, he's gotten hot before. Getting hot is only particularly good if you don't match it with an equal number of equally cold streaks, and that's kind of been the story with him thus far.
Salem W 13-3
Manuel Margot: 3-5, 3B
Sam Travis: 1-3, 2 BB, 2 K
Wendell Rijo: 1-4, BB, K
Six games into the season and Manuel Margot already has his second three-hit game. Last year it took him until his 18th start.
Greenville L 4-5 (In 11)
Nick Longhi: 1-5
Rafael Devers: 0-4, K
Michael Chavis: 0-4, BB, 2 K
Alas, Greenville gives us our bust for the day. Rafael Devers is off to an ice-cold start which, while understandable for an 18-year-old making his full-season debut, is none-the-less something of a letdown given the hype.
