Red Sox vs. Nationals lineups: Sox look to open Fenway Park with bounce-back performance

The Red Sox will try to put Sunday night's disaster behind them and open Fenway Park with a win over the Washington Nationals.

The Red Sox are back in Fenway Park for the first time in 2015, hoping that they'll start off their home schedule on a much more positive note than they finished their first road trip with.

  3. David Ortiz, DH
  4. Hanley Ramirez, LF
  5. Pablo Sandoval, 3B
  6. Mike Napoli, 1B
  7. Shane Victorino, RF
  8. Xander Bogaerts, SS
  9. Sandy Leon, C

Washington Nationals (2-4)

  2. Yunel Escobar, 3B
  3. Bryce Harper, RF
  4. Jayson Werth, LF
  5. Ryan Zimmerman, 1B
  6. Clint Robinson, DH

The Washington Nationals, expected to be a powerhouse this season, are off to a surprisingly rough start, having dropped series to both the Mets and Phillies to start the season (a reminder that, no matter who you're facing, a pair of series wins like the Red Sox earned is hardly a given). Some things have gone as planned--their pitching staff has been as incredible as expected so far--but the Nationals lineup just hasn't been able to get on the board, putting together just 13 runs in their first six games.

Rick Porcello will hope not to be the one to turn their season around. He did exactly what the Red Sox expected him to in his first game of the year against Philadelphia, right up until one mistake pitch left three runs on the board. It was a perfect combination of the worst outcome at the worst time, and Porcello did finish with a decent night all-the-same. Still, he'll be hoping for a better performance against one of the coldest teams in baseball.

First pitch is at 3:05 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
