With Dustin Pedroia out, and Rusney Castillo still at least a little while away, have we reached the nadir of interest in this Red Sox team? If there is a Red Sox game without Betts and Bogaerts, is anyone around to see it?
They say the season is a marathon. If that's the case, we ran out of gas somewhere around Wellesley and have been dragged, presumably by rope, to Newton. The good news is that we're not far from the end of the Green Line, where we can finally give up and just take the T home. The bad news is that the day is reaching its hottest point, we've still got miles to go, and this metaphor died a long time ago and I'm still beating it like a dead horse.
I'll stop now.
