Red Sox vs. Blue Jays: Jackie Bradley is back as Red Sox go for sweep

Jackie Bradley Jr. makes his return to the majors, starting in center field Sunday afternoon against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

Jackie Bradley Jr. is back in Boston and back in the lineup, batting eighth and playing center as the Red Sox send Rubby De La Rosa to the mound in search of a sweep against the Blue Jays.

Today's Lineups

TORONTO BLUE JAYS BOSTON RED SOX
Jose Reyes - SS Mookie Betts - RF
Jose Bautista - RF Daniel Nava - LF
Edwin Encarnacion - DH Dustin Pedroia - 2B
Adam Lind - 1B Yoenis Cespedes - DH
Danny Valencia - 3B Xander Bogaerts - SS
Josh Thole - C Allen Craig - 1B
Kevin Pillar - LF Will Middlebrooks - 3B
Ryan Goins - 2B Jackie Bradley - CF
Anthony Gose - CF Christian Vazquez - C
R.A. Dickey - RHP Rubby De La Rosa - RHP

Yoenis Cespedes makes room for Bradley in the outfield by vacating his spot to start at DH, with David Ortiz out for the day. Also absent is Mike Napoli, who is dealing with a stomach bug.

Rubby De La Rosa has certainly not been amazing for the Red Sox in his last few starts, but he's also been good enough to keep them in the game, which was about all fans could ask for from the starters for much of the season. The results have been less egregious of late on almost all accounts, though, so seeing De La Rosa tick upward with the rest of the rotation would be nice. On the whole, while he's never really taken the next step, De La Rosa has at least emerged as one of the more realistic options to start for the Red Sox in 2015.

First pitch is at 1:35 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
