Red Sox vs. Yankees: Jemile Weeks starts at second

The Red Sox will have Jemile Weeks in the lineup as they try to follow up one good win with another.

Jemile Weeks will get his first start with the Red Sox Wednesday night, playing second base as Boston aims for a series win over the New York Yankees.

Today's Lineups

BOSTON RED SOX NEW YORK YANKEES
Brock Holt - 3B Jacoby Ellsbury - CF
Mookie Betts - CF Derek Jeter - SS
David Ortiz - DH Brett Gardner - LF
Yoenis Cespedes - LF Carlos Beltran - DH
Daniel Nava - RF Mark Teixeira - 1B
Allen Craig - 1B Brian McCann - C
Xander Bogaerts - SS Chase Headley - 3B
Christian Vazquez - C Stephen Drew - 2B
Jemile Weeks - 2B Ichiro Suzuki - RF
Anthony Ranaudo - RHP Hiroki Kuroda - RHP

The Red Sox of Tuesday have given the Red Sox of Wednesday a tough act to follow up, but effectively swapping Will Middlebrooks for Weeks is, sadly enough, very likely a straight upgrade the way Middlebrooks has looked over the course of this season. Meanwhile the players who made last night special--Betts, Cespedes, Nava, and Bogaerts in particular--are all still present.

We'd be pretty crazy to expect more of the same from last night, but if there's one team Hiroki Kuroda can't seem to solve--well, honestly, it's the Twins. Or the Rays. But the Red Sox are pretty high on that list too! So we've got that going for us.

First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN, WEEI, and ESPN.
