The Red Sox are playing NL ball once more, sending Joe Kelly both to the mound and the plate against Mat Latos and the Cinicinnati Reds.

The bad news for the Red Sox is that, with the designated hitter spot gone, David Ortiz has to man first base. Not a defensive treat, and probably not exactly Ortiz' favorite thing in the world either. The good news is that, with one hit in two at bats, Joe Kelly is basically Boston's best offensive player right now!
I kid. Mostly.
The Jackie Bradley Jr. as a defensive replacement saga continues, with Daniel Nava and Brock Holt manning the non-Cespedes outfield spots. That leaves room for Will Middlebrooks in the infield, but none for Bradley. At this point, even Triple-A seems like it would be a more productive destination for the young center fielder than the bench.
First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
