Red Sox minor lines: Manuel Margot on a tear

New, 13 comments

The South Atlantic League has no answer for Manuel Margot so far in August.

Pawtucket W 11-8

Mookie Betts: 3-4, 2 2B, BB, CS
Alex Hassan: 1-4, 2B, K
Bryce Brentz: 2-4, 2B, BB, K
Travis Shaw: 1-5
Blake Swihart: 1-5, HR

Anthony Ranaudo: 6.1 IP, 10 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 1 HR

Pawtucket W 5-2

Mookie Betts: 1-4, 2B, BB, K, SB
Alex Hassan: 1-5
Bryce Brentz: 1-5, HR
Garin Cecchini: 3-5, 2B, K
Deven Marrero: 1-5
Blake Swihart: 1-4

Matt Barnes: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 1 HR

Betts and Ranaudo head in slightly different post-demotion directions. Though the latter's outing was certainly not without it's merits, there's no denying Mookie's superlative nature in Pawtucket at this point. It's a shame that they can't find consistent time for him up in Boston right now.

Portland L 1-5

Michael Almanzar: 2-4, 2B, HR, E
Keury De La Cruz: 1-3, BB

Eduardo Rodriguez: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 9 K

Portland W 12-7 (In 11)

Michael Almanzar: 2-5, HR, BB, K
Keury De La Cruz: 1-4, K

Noe Ramirez: 2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

16 strikeouts in 11 innings from the new 21-year-old Rodriguez in Portland? Why, yes, I will take that.

Greenville L 5-6

Manuel Margot: 3-5, 2B, CS, A
Tzu-Wei Lin: 1-5, K, CS
Wendell Rijo: 1-4, 2B, BB, 2 K
Sam Travis: 0-5, E

Greenville W 6-4

Manuel Margot: 2-5, 3B, HR, K, CS
Tzu-Wei Lin: 0-2, 3 BB
Wendell Rijo: 0-5, K
Cole Sturgeon: 1-3, HR, K

Manuel Margot is so hot right now that I need to make a Zoolander reference to adequately describe it. He's hit in every game so far in August, producing a line of .472/.513/.750.

Lowell W 4-3

Danny Mars: 0-4, 2 K

Lowell L 2-3

Danny Mars: 2-5, 3B, K

Kevin McAvoy: 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

GCL Red Sox L 2-3

Rafael Devers: 1-3, BB, K
Luis Alexander Basabe: 1-4
Michael Chavis: 1-4, K
Trenton Kemp: 0-4, 2 K

Jake Cosart: 3 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
