Coming off their first loss in a week, the Red Sox will turn to Jake Peavy to get them back on track against T.J. House and the Indians.
It's a lineup largely reminiscent of what we've gotten used to lately. It's worth noting that Stephen Drew is absent against a left-handed pitcher. Given that Jonathan Herrera isn't particularly capable against southpaws either, that's slightly surprising, but using Drew as something of a platoon bat is neither a new idea, nor a wholly bad one.
Otherwise, the only real question was whether or not Alex Hassan would get the start in right field in place of Grady Sizemore. Coming off a successful debut, the answer appears to be yes.
While the Red Sox would very much like to get back to winning, this night is probably bigger for the man on the mound than the team as a whole. Jake Peavy is coming off arguably his first good game in better than a month. What remains to be seen is if that's the start of a turnaround from the veteran hurler, or just a blip on the otherwise troubling radar.
First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. EST with broadcasts on NESN, WEEI, and the MLB Network.
