The Red Sox will turn to Jake Peavy as they try to take their second series win of the year.

The Red Sox will turn to Jake Peavy looking for a series-winning start Wednesday afternoon as they take on Robert Ross and the Texas Rangers.

Boston Red Sox (3-5)

  1. Jonny Gomes, LF
  2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
  3. David Ortiz, DH
  4. Mike Napoli, 1B
  5. Xander Bogaerts, SS
  6. Daniel Nava, RF
  7. Ryan Roberts, 3B
  8. David Ross, C
  9. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF

Starting Pitcher -- Jake Peavy

Texas Rangers (4-4)

  1. Shin-Soo Choo, LF
  2. Elvis Andrus, SS
  3. Prince Fielder, DH
  4. Alex Rios, RF
  5. Mitch Moreland, 1B
  6. Donnie Murphy, 2B
  7. Leonys Martin, CF
  8. Robinson Chirinos, C
  9. Josh Wilson, 3B

Starting Pitcher -- Robert Ross Jr.

While some have been calling for Jackie Bradley Jr. to take over center field duty for the sake of the troubled defense, his presence there today means Daniel Nava in right field. So, while it's always best to keep the ball out of the air, it will be of particular importance for Peavy today. Shane Victorino just can't come back soon enough.

Otherwise the lineup is about what we might expect at this point. David Ross does, in fact, get the second of the two starts against Texas lefties, with Ryan Roberts playing third over Jonathan Herrera. Gomes continues to lead off vs. southpaws. Hopefully the offense from last night sticks around, while the rest of said travesty stays behind.

First pitch is at 4:05 p.m. EST with broadcasts on NESN, WEEI, and the MLB Network.
