Pawtucket W 7-5 (In 12)
Brock Holt: 1-6, 2B, BB, K, SB
Alex Hassan: 1-5, BB, 2 K
Bryce Brentz: 0-4, 2 BB, 3 K
Ryan Lavarnway: 2-6, K, E
Dan Butler: 1-4, 2 BB, K
Garin Cecchini: 1-6, K
Christian Vazquez: 0-3, 2 BB
Allen Webster: 5 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 1 K, 1 HR
Dalier Hinojosa: 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
Drake Britton: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
Allen Webster's results haven't been consistent, but what has been are his low strikeout totals. You'd maybe hope that was because he was trying to work on control and keep walk total downs even if it meant some more contact...but no, the walks are still there. The strikeouts simply aren't.
Portland L 3-6
Mookie Betts: 1-3, 2B, BB, SB
Travis Shaw: 0-4, K
Henry Ramos: 0-4, K
Sean Coyle: 0-3, 2 K
Noe Ramirez: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
Four stolen bases now for Mookie. Not bad given that he's only been on first base 14 times this season, and presumably had some folks on ahead of him from time-to-time. This time it was actually third base, but that just makes it all the more impressive. This is the level where you'd expect the stolen bases earned purely by experienced baserunning to start fading away, too.
Salem L 5-9
Brian Johnson: 4 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
Austin Maddox: 3 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HR
Brian Johnson got knocked around in his second game of the season, but he put up eight strikeouts to one walk in the process. This time the lining isn't quite so silver.
