Pawtucket L 2-3
Brock Holt: 0-3, BB
Ryan Lavarnway: 1-4
Bryce Brentz: 0-4, K
Garin Cecchini: 1-3, 2 K, SB
Christian Vazquez: 1-3, 2B, K
Dan Butler: 1-3, HR, K
Alex Wilson: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 K
31 at bats into the season, Christian Vazquez has still yet to draw his first walk. It's a strange start to the year for a catcher who produced more free passes than strikeouts in 2013.
Portland W 10-4
Mookie Betts: 2-4, 2B, SB
Deven Marrero: 1-4, 2B, BB, 2 K, SB
Henry Ramos: 1-5, 3 K, E
Blake Swihart: 1-4, 2B
Sean Coyle: 1-3, K
Mookie Betts has reached base twice in all but one of his eight games this season. He's picked up three stolen bases, six extra base hits, and has only struck out three times (compared to four walks). If he keeps playing anywhere near this level over the next couple months, it will be interesting to see where he ends up on mid-season top prospect lists.
Salem L 0-3
Corey Littrell: 6 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K
As with so many other college juniors, it kind of feels like Littrell is playing catch-up, only just now getting his first innings outside of short-season Lowell. So far, so good, however, with 15 strikeouts in 10 innings of work.
Greenville W 4-1
Manuel Margot: 1-4, 2 SB
Wendell Rijo: 1-2, 2B, BB, K, POCS
Teddy Stankiewicz: 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
Manuel Margot takes a break from his power performance to get back to the speed game that we expected of him at the beginning of the year. If you're not getting at least a little hyped up by now, then you're doing it wrong.
