Pawtucket L 0-7
Brock Holt: 1-3
Alex Hassan: 0-3, BB, A
Ryan Lavarnway: 1-3
Dan Butler: 1-4, K
Garin Cecchini: 0-4
Christian Vazquez: 1-4
Anthony Ranaudo: 5.2 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 1 HR
Rich Hill: 1.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
Dalier Hinojosa: 1 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 0 K
Alex Wilson: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
Just kind of a messy game all-around for Pawtucket. Ranaudo allowed some hard contact, Hinojosa better than doubled his already high walk total, and the offense did nothing against a pitching staff that included Manny Delcarmen. Pawtucket, so far, has been very hit-or-miss.
Portland W 9-2
Mookie Betts: 2-5, BB, K, SB
Deven Marrero: 2-6, 2 K, SB, POCS
Travis Shaw: 1-5, BB, K, POCS
Henry Ramos: 1-4, BB, K
Blake Swihart: 0-4, BB, 2 K
Sean Coyle: 2-5, 2B, 2 K, SB
Henry Owens: 6.2 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K
Henry Owens is downright unreasonable. He didn't keep his no-hit streak going, but through his first 12.2 inings of work, he's struck out 18 batters, walked two, and allowed not a single run. Double-A is often seen as the toughest level to adjust to before the majors, and going back to his 30 innings in 2013, he's made it look like an absolute joke.
Salem L 2-4
Austin Maddox: 2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
Salem's winning streak finally comes to an end.
Greenville W 6-3
Tzu-Wei Lin: 2-4, BB, K, E
Manuel Margot: 3-4, 2 HR, POCS, A
Wendell Rijo: 1-4, 2 K, E
Cody Kukuk: 3 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 HR
Well, that's...not exactly what we might have expected from Manuel Margot. While there are high hopes for the young outfielder, said hopes don't exactly revolve around his power stroke. In fact, with this game alone, he's eclipsed his 2013 home run total. Chances are we won't see this type of production continue. But it's something to keep an eye on.
Not that multiple-homer games require much attention to be noticed.
