John Farrell has opened the injury information floodgates Friday, and it's all good news.
- Jake Peavy is about a week away from returning to the mound. That should leave him with plenty of time to get ready before his spot in the rotation comes up in the regular season.
- A.J. Pierzynski is set for a return as well, possibly catching for Saturday's game against the Orioles. With David Ross already back behind the plate today, Boston's catcher crisis seems to have been resolved before it ever got too serious.
- Shane Victorino could find his way into the lineup early next week. We've heard that he's been getting close, now John Farrell has provided a target. An encouraging sign for now, since managers generally want to avoid setting one they don't expect to be able to meet.
There's been no word on Matt Barnes, who was shut down for a few days with shoulder stiffness, but as far as MLB-level players are concerned, it's good news all around. Everyone is getting healthy, and doing so in a time frame that should have them ready to go on March 31st.
