Red Sox vs. Marlins lineups: Minor leaguers hit the road

The Pawtucket Red Sox are making the trip to Jupiter, it seems.

Scott Rovak-USA TODAY Sports

Another road game, another road roster for the Red Sox, with Jackie Bradley Jr. the biggest name headed out to Jupiter.

Boston Red Sox (1-5)

  1. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
  2. Alex Hassan, LF
  3. Garin Cecchini, 3B
  4. Ryan Lavarnway, C
  5. Travis Shaw, 1B
  6. Brandon Snyder, DH
  7. Bryce Brentz, RF
  8. Deven Marrero, SS
  9. Heiker Menses, 2B

Starting Pitcher -- Allen Webster

Miami Marlins (5-2)

  1. Rafael Furcal, 2B
  2. Christian Yelich, LF
  3. Giancarlo Stanton, RF
  4. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
  5. Marcell Ozuna, CF
  6. Casey McGehee, 3B
  7. Greg Dobbs, DH
  8. Ed Lucas, 1B
  9. Adeiny Hechavarria, SS

Starting Pitcher -- Nathan Eovaldi

The Red Sox will face an old friend in Jarrod Saltalamacchia, but he won't recognize much of anyone on the team. The league has certain guidelines about how light of a roster a team can bring with them to any given game, and I can't help but feel John Farrell has stretched those just a bit here. "Oh, sure, Ryan Lavarnway is a major league player. Look at all those at bats he got in 2012!"

Oh well, so long as they get their work in and remember the regular season.

No Red Sox broadcast today, but the Marlins will have a radio feed for those with MLB audio subscriptions (or who happen to be local to Florida).
