Red Sox vs. Orioles: David Ortiz hits the road

David Ortiz will lead the Red Sox into Sarasota as they face the Orioles for the last time before Opening Day.

With a contract extension in hand, David Ortiz seems raring to go, heading all the way out to Sarasota as the Red Sox take on the Orioles for the last time before Opening Day.

Baltimore Orioles (12-11)

Starting Pitcher -- Brian Matusz

The proximity of the regular season is apparent with so many potential regulars making the trip. Not so much, though, in the presence of Drake Britton on the mound to start the game. It's interesting to see him getting the nod here, and will be even more interesting to see how long he stays in the game. The Red Sox have said they're looking for someone who can eat some innings to fill in for Craig Breslow at the start of the season. Perhaps they're trying to see if Britton can be that man, allowing them to leave Brandon Workman in Triple-A working as a starter.

First pitch is at 1:05 p.m. EST, but the MLB Network broadcast won't come until...11:00 PM. Yup.
