Red Sox vs. Rays: The home stretch

The last week of spring training begins.

The list of remaining spring training games has grown shorter and shorter, and now we're left with just one last week of games until the Red Sox head north to finally get their championship defense underway.

The final week will start with an afternoon game against the Rays, featuring a lineup that we could well see against southpaws all year long:

Boston Red Sox (8-14)

  1. Grady Sizemore, CF
  2. Shane Victorino, RF
  3. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
  4. David Ortiz, DH
  5. Mike Napoli, 1B
  6. Jonny Gomes, LF
  7. Xander Bogaerts, SS
  8. Will Middlebrooks, 3B
  9. David Ross, C

Starting Pitcher -- Felix Doubront

Tampa Bay Rays (14-5)

  1. Logan Forsythe, 3B
  2. David DeJesus, DH
  3. Wil Myers, RF
  4. Desmond Jennings, CF
  5. Sean Rodriguez, 1B
  6. Matt Joyce, LF
  7. Ryan Hanigan, C
  8. Jayson Nix, 2B
  9. Ray Olmedo, SS

Starting Pitcher -- Matt Moore

The order might be slightly off--Grady Sizemore getting the nod at the leadoff spot vs. a lefty just seems like an all-around bad idea--but maybe shift Victorino everyone else up a space, or go with a Victorino - Gomes combination in the 1-2, and that looks about right.

First pitch is at 1:05 p.m. EST with NESN and WEEI handling the broadcast duties. The MLB Network will air the game later in the day on delay.
