Red Sox vs. Blue Jays lineups: Mike Napoli hits the road

Mike Napoli is the big name headed to Dunedin as the Red Sox take on the Blue Jays.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Mike Napoli is making a rare trip out of Fort Myers, leading a Red Sox away team as they travel to Dunedin, Florida to take on the Toronto Blue Jays.

Boston Red Sox (6-8)

  1. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
  2. Jonathan Herrera, 3B
  3. Mike Carp, DH
  4. Mike Napoli, 1B
  5. Jonny Gomes, LF
  6. Corey Brown, RF
  7. Ryan Lavarnway, C
  8. Brock Holt, SS
  9. Mike McCoy, 2B

Starting Pitcher -- Clay Buchholz

Toronto Blue Jays (6-8)

If you're looking to read anything into this lineup, you should be looking at Mike Napoli. One day after being shifted to fifth in the 2013-style lineup, Napoli is back to fourth against the Jays. Of course, Thursday's lineup had the full complement of starting players unlike this bunch. But if John Farrell is looking to get his hitters accustomed to their spot in the order, this would suggest that Thursday was just a quick aberration.

First pitch is at 1:05 p.m. EST, with the only broadcast coming via Toronto's radio station.
