It's winter meetings time again (I just typed winter meeeetings which, yeah, I can see it) and that means signings and tradings and free agents and new players coming to Boston and old players getting the heck outta here (bye Andrew Miller!). In short, it's a silly time when news is flying about like so many nats at a day game in July.
As for this podcast, the Red Sox are in the Jon Lester hunt and so is half the league. So, rather than spend a half hour on "oh please oh please oh please," which, yes, would be thrilling radio, Marc Normandin and I, Matt Kory, talked about secondary plans.
The Sox are going to have to do something if Lester signs elsewhere. We talk about what it might be! The Sox are going to have to do something else if they sign Lester. We talk about what it might be! The trade market is going to be lousy with good starting pitchers and the Red Sox, like a small kid in the plastic ball pool at Chucky Cheese, will be rolling around in the center of it. Should be a fun week. Here's Marc and I talking about it. Enjoy!
As always, direct questions to my email, matthew dot kory at gmail dot com and thanks for listening.
