We've all been there before.
You grow to love a baseball player and then, suddenly, one day you wake up and he's not there for on your favorite team anymore. I remember in fifth grade on the day after Johnny Damon signed with the Yankees, there were at least four kids crying before the school day had even begun, heads on their desks, quivering from the tears.
For one young Red Sox fan, the trade of Yoenis Cespedes appeared to hit him hard. Really, really hard. The dad lays out the situation and why the Red Sox needed to make this trade. He lays out the benefits of Rick Porcello and why the team needed him in the Red Sox rotation. Nope, for kid, when you're favorite player is traded from your favorite team, all rationality goes out the window. The best part of the video doesn't come until the when, ahh, well, you'll see it.
"MY FAVORITE PLAYERS ON THE RED SOX WERE ORTIZ, BOGAERTS AND SPESPEDES. THEY TRADED AWAY MY FAVORITE PLAYER"
Hat tip to my Twitter friend @mymichelleelise for finding this clip and sharing the adorableness to the Internet.
Food for thought: who was the player that you cried over when you were a kid?
