It's been an up and down offseason for the Red Sox. First there was the signings of Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez. Yay! Then Jon Lester, a saga in himself, decided to join the Cubs. Sads. Then the Red Sox acquired three starting pitchers in one day. Yes, that really happened. Wade Miley came from Arizona, Justin Masterson was signed as a free agent, and Rick Porcello (por-SELL-oh) came over from Detroit. Bang, bang, bang, new starting rotation. Of course, the Red Sox may not be done yet. There's always James Shields on the market, Max Scherzer also if you're particularly delusional, and Cole Hamels and Jordan Zimmermann (two Ns, the one N guy plays first base) are both said to be available in trade.
All of that is to say this: we did a podcast about it. Brendan O'Toole and Marc Normandin joined me to analyze the Sox three newest additions and to look at what might lie ahead for the rotation this offseason. As always, we welcome your comments below or via email (you can hit me up at matthew dot kory at gmail) and thanks for listening.
