New, comments

Jackie Bradley Jr. is back, and batting seventh as the Sox aim to lock up another series win.

Otto Greule Jr

Jackie Bradley Jr. has made his way back up to the majors, joining the Red Sox in New York to start in place of the injured Jacoby Ellsbury against David Huff and the Yankees.

Boston Red Sox (86-57)

  1. Shane Victorino, RF
  2. Jonny Gomes, LF
  3. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
  4. David Ortiz, DH
  5. Mike Napoli, 1B
  6. Will Middlebrooks, 3B
  7. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
  8. Ryan Lavarnway, C
  9. Xander Bogaerts, SS

Starting Pitcher -- John Lackey

New York Yankees (75-66)

  1. Brett Gardner, CF
  2. Derek Jeter, SS
  3. Robinson Cano, 2B
  4. Alfonso Soriano, LF
  5. Curtis Granderson, DH
  6. Eduardo Nunez, 3B
  7. Lyle Overbay, 1B
  8. Ichiro Suzuki, RF
  9. Austin Romine, C

Starting Pitcher -- David Huff

Will Middlebrooks finally gets the bump up from the bottom spot after setting a torrid pace since his return to the big leagues. Bradley batting seventh above Xander seems a little odd given each one's performance both in the majors and minors, but in the end just having Xander in the order against a lefty is relief enough that we probably should just leave well enough alone.

Also none of it matters because John Lackey is on the mound so the Red Sox won't score any runs, period. Why you gotta be like that, Red Sox?
